Thank you for your enquiry regarding Tyne, Wear & Tees Boxer Rescue. This group consists of a small number of people who voluntarily give their time to rehoming those Boxers who, often through no fault of their own, have to find a new family. We also try to help with general advice on the Boxer breed and any problems which may arise. Please note we do not have pups. We cover quite a large catchment area ranging from Teesside/Cleveland, Co. Durham, Tyne & Wear and all of Northumberland. We also have regular contact with other Boxer Rescue groups across the country and most of all the other various Animal Welfare Societies in our region. The work consists of booking-in homes available and dogs that require rehoming. Running a back-up service when required. Although we try to place the dogs directly from one home to another it is sometimes necessary to place them into kennels. In the main this is a last resort and is usually only for 2 or 3 days but occasionally it may be on a long term basis. As you can imagine all these activities run away with the finances - telephone, petrol, kennel fees and very often vets bills. We rely very heavily upon the donations received for our rehomed dogs. It is our general rule that no healthy animal will be put to sleep, unless it may pose a danger. The youngest dog we have rehomed is 13 weeks and the oldest 11 years. These are the exceptional cases and in general the average age is about 3 years. Although we try our utmost to find all the information we can about a dog we are not infallible and some traits only come to light after a dog has been rehomed. If previous owners would tell us the truth it would make the job a whole lot easier. We also offer a microchipping service, for further information on this please contact us by phone or email:
